It is our pleasure to invite you to the second in-person experts meeting of the project, that has been approved for the working phase by the IEA EBC Program Executive Committee as Annex 93 “Resilience of Buildings in Remote Cold Regions.” Our project team is comprised of experts from Nordic European countries, Japan, Canada, China and the United States of America.
During this meeting, participating experts will discuss the Annex 93 project the working plan and will assemble mini teams to work on specific actions.
The experts meeting will be hosted by the UiT Narvik and will be conducted 4th-6th March 2025 in Norway. Having the meeting hosted by UiT will an opportunity to present and introduce the Annex 93 to the audience through a workshop. It will also allow for information collection and networking with experts.
We are planning an optional tour to the city of Kiruna which is the northernmost city in Sweden, situated in the province of Lapland. It had 17,002 inhabitants in 2016. In June 2010, the municipal council decided that the town would be moved several kilometers eastwards. The moving of the town was started in 2014, and the plan describes a process that continues to 2100.
